Friday the 18th

So for those can get Friday off, we’ll meet at Scales on the A66. There’s 2 or 3 laybys to park in, or park at The White horse Scales, Keswick CA12 4SY

This is where the walk will start from and finish. We’ll be heading up Blencathra, my favourite go to top in the area. We’ll head together, well in two groups with a gap. There will be an option to scramble up Sharp edge but weather depending. This can be a dangerous scramble, so only consider this if your ok with some both hands on scrambling.

but don’t worry the alternative route is a safe trail. We’ll all meet we’re I say and head to the top and hopefully take in the spectacular views over the lake district. After heading down taking in the views, maybe a pint in the pub to reflect before heading to Braithwaite to check in and meet the others.

Saturday the 19th

So I have a loose plan for the morning as it is a holiday. After breakfast I’ll be outside cheering Patrick and Maggy on as they run past the pub, I’m sure I won’t be in my own. They’ve entered the Derwent Dawdle, which isn’t a dawdle but a fantastic run route. So for the rest of us after breakfast has settled we’ll get our running out on and head out. We’ll all start together and will head up the road, this is steep so will be a walk run. Then we go on to the trail, this is a lovely trail takes us through Coledale valley and to the old mine.

At this point I’ll be heading up into the fells and mountain tops. So the choices are…

You can head back the same way we came, this will make your run around 6 miles.

You can come with me and I’ll guide you through some mountain trails and point you down the trail to get back safely while keeping the distance the same.

You can stay with me and see what happens.

Can talk about this more the way to and at the mine so no pressure and just enjoy that you decide to do. I’ll make sure everyone is happy and I’m happy with any decision. I can always head out again.

We should be back in time to cheer Patrick and Maggy to the finish.

Then we get pissed.

Sunday the 20th

Breakfast, check out then the option to walk up Catbells before we head home (although Patrick and Baggy would have done this on the race). Or maybe a walk around Keswick we’ll go with the flow.
